Thursday & Friday, January 2 & 3, 2020– Harry Potter Camp!
Calling all witches and wizards to the Biggest Classroom School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! This Harry Potter themed 2-day camp is lots of hands-on science mixed with magic, imaginative play, and crafts. With a winter setting this time, students will get to learn about various science concepts all within the world of Harry Potter!
Please note: Session fees are slightly higher for this camp due to the large quantity of materials necessary to create a magical Harry Potter experience for kids. In addition, students will get to bring home numerous artifacts and treasures!
Cost: $100 per day or $150 for both days.

January 6, 2020– STEAM Back to School!
Teachers go back but kids don’t head back until Tuesday. What a perfect opportunity to get together for some STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art & Mathematics)! Students conduct numerous hands-on science experiments, apply their math knowledge to a highly engaging engineering problem, and create a fabulously fun art project!
Since it is a Monday and many parents need to work a full day, this special session will be a full 8 hours, from 8 AM – 4 PM.
Cost: $80

Back to School Math Jump Start 2-Day Camp Aug. 8-9, 9:30 – 3:30
Help your child start the new school year with confidence about numbers and mathematics! At this 2-day math camp, students will get back into the swing of math with fun games and hands-on explorations.

The Science of Harry Potter Science Camp
Chemistry, Biology, Physics & Engineering
Students will spend the week exploring acids & basis, genetics & traits and force & motion by exploring topics from Harry Potter. Students will have fun using science to write secret messages, predict the ability to speak parseltongue, and determine how to help Harry Potter catch the Remembrall.

This summer, The Biggest Classroom is offering five different opportunities to extend your child’s learning and mathematical thinking, all while helping him/her enjoy math, science and/or music.

Summer Camp #1– 6/3/19 – 6/6/19: Bricks & Math (FULL)
Probability, Fractions & Percents:
Students will explore the concepts of probability, fractions and percents by using Lego bricks to construct, design and build. Students will also have fun applying their knowledge of fractions and percents to the world of animation. Students will learn about basic animation, create a flip book and produce a simple animation using Lego.

Summer Camp #2– 6/17/19 – 6/20/19: Music & Math
Notes, Rhythm & Patterns
Students will explore patterns in music and learn the basics of different types of notes and rhythm. Students will practice playing different rhythms and will get to explore different instruments to do so, including piano, recorders and simple percussion instruments. Student will then explore creating patterns with musical notes and will get to try their hand at composing their very own piece of music!
Required: Students will need to purchase and bring their own soprano recorder for each day of camp. I prefer the Yamaha recorders, which are available on Amazon for $7 – $10.

Summer Camp #3– 7/8/19 – 7/11/19: Bricks & Math
Area & Perimeter
Students will use Lego bricks and cheerios to explore the mathematical concepts of area and perimeter. Students will apply this knowledge and construct a “playing field” with specific dimensions designed for a robot to navigate. Students will explore the basics of robotics, engineering, science, math and coding with a Lego WeDo 2.0.

Summer Camp #4– 7/15/19 – 7/18/19: Bricks & Math
Volume
Students will use Lego, Cheerios and other hands-on manipulatives to explore the mathematical concept of volume. Students will design, build and explore volume further by using simple and/or powered machines to fill various containers to capacity.
